About
Bishop's Lodge is a historic New Mexico property reimagined by Auberge Resorts Collection, set on 450 acres in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains just north of Santa Fe on land that has been inhabited continuously since the Pueblo people built their settlements here centuries ago. The property served as the personal retreat of Archbishop Jean-Baptiste Lamy — the historical figure at the center of Willa Cather's Death Comes for the Archbishop — and his private chapel still stands on the grounds. The Auberge Spa incorporates adobe architecture with Finnish sauna, steam, and outdoor mineral pools using local geothermal resources. A year-round arts center with a Pulitzer Prize-winning curator brings rotating art installations to the property. Horseback riding through the arroyos and mountains, fly fishing on the nearby Río Grande, and Santa Fe's extraordinary dining scene are all part of the experience.
